Weekend plans

We have the very first show of the year this weekend, and Off the Track Show Jumping and Dressage day. These shows are just about free and an excellent way to get some training done in a relaxed show environment. I have done a couple of these now and they are always a good day out.

It's going to be an early morning with my dressage test at 6.54am and show jumping shortly after. We are stretching ourselves and doing a novice test. I thought it would help to keep Henry busier in a  test but he's been so fresh the last few weeks I'm not sure how it's going to go! What will happen happens though and I am aiming to be confident, brave and keep him very busy in the warm up. I need to keep in my mind we can do everything we need to this weekend.
This guy also turns 17 today!

Our show jumping is indoors which is a first for Henry. I imagine he wont even notice though since that's usually how he reacts to such things. We have a round at 670 and one at 75 to get us going for the year. I m hoping for two steady rounds. The aim for the day is cool and calm.

Today we are jumped at home and then Hen got a bath. He was thrilled. He was much more relaxed for our ride and we aced the jumps so I feel more than prepared for tomorrow.

Later I am catching up with two of my riding friends for wine and puppy play dates, plus foal cuddles. Benji the foal is 4 weeks old and super cute. He's a blingy chestnut with 4 white socks and I could watch him all day.

Sunday I'll be riding early again before we head to the beach. We have had some lovely summer weather recently so we are going to make the most of it. I need to go to the beach with Coolie at some point, but my social life is hectic!
What a cutie!

I hope everyone has a good weekend, I can't wait to read about it!
